Mary A. Schu Aviation is an Oregon based small business specializing in general aviation training. Mary Schu (Dominick), owner and operator, provides a range of aviation and pilot training services. These include FAA approved Flight Instructor Refresher Courses (FIRC) presented in Oregon, Arkansas, Montana and other states. She has previously presented the flight instructor refresher clinics on cruise ships and has plans to do so again in the near future. The company also expects to present FIRCs in England and other parts of Europe. 

Mary Schu also gives FAA Practical Tests – check rides. Mary is an FAA designated pilot examiner and has provided FAA practical tests in both the mid-west Wichita, Kansas Flight Standards District Office and the Portland Hillsboro, Oregon FSDO. She is approved by the FAA to give the Private Pilot check ride, Instrument check ride, Commercial Pilot check ride, Multi-engine check ride (Seminole, and previously Cessna 310, Beech Baron, and Piper Twin Comanche). She can also do the FAA Certified Flight Instructor check ride for CFI add-on rating, CFI certificate renewal, CFI certificate reissue. She specializes in working with international flight students with M1 and J1 Visas where language can be a challenge. She will travel to your location with advanced notice and can remain for several days to assist large flight schools complete end of term check rides.

Mary A. Schu Aviation offers specialty training in glass cockpit airplanes. This can be done in your airplane or in our glass cockpit 2006 Cessna 172SP Garmin 1000. We can do Garmin 1000 flight and ground instruction for VFR or IFR. We can also assist with turbo-prop Cessna Conquest 425, and Cessna Citation contract pilot service and flight training.

Whether it is the Garmin G-1000 glass cockpit, Garmin 430 or Garmin 530 or Avidyne system, we can assist with ground and flight training. We specialize in Technically Advanced Aircraft (TAA) curriculum and FAA Industry Training Standards (FITS). Mary Schu is a Cessna factory approved Certified FITS Flight Instructor. She is also a factory trained instructor in Cessna 300 aircraft, Lancair Columbia 300 and 350 aircraft and Cirrus Design aircraft. She has additional experience in Diamond aircraft.

Glass cockpit training is available now in both central Oregon and the Portland, Oregon area. Contract pilot service is available for co-pilot or captain needs in piston single and multi-engine aircraft, jets and turbo-props.
